Scores, celebrates joyously but shown red card! Aboubakar makes history as Cameroon shock Brazil

Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar made history as he became the first player since the legendary Zinedine Zidane in 2006 to score a goal and get sent off in a FIFA World Cup match.

With the clock heading into nine minutes stoppage time, it seemed as if the shares would be spoiled between the two sides.

However, Aboubakar ghosted in the Brazilian penalty area, guided the ball into the back of the net with a magnificent header to give Cameroon an unlikely lead.

The 30-year old celebrated wildly and removed his shirt as he struggled to control his emotions.

His joy, however; was short lived as he received his marching orders for a second yellow for removing his shirt.

Despite the late sending off and a few late last ditch attacks from Brazil, The Indomitable Lions held their nerve and pulled off a mighty shock by beating the World Cup favourites 1-0 in their final Group G match.

Despite their heroic performance, it was not enough to send them to the knockout stages as Switzerland ran out 3-2 winners against Serbia to secure second spot, two points ahead of Cameroon.
