Schools hunt for honours as TASG holds in Lagos

Over 15 private schools in Lagos are set to participate in the maiden edition of The Athletics School Games (TASG), which begins tomorrow at the Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) Sports Complex.
The young athletes will vie for honours in such races as 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, shuttle relay, 4x100m and 4x400m, as well as long jump, shuttle throw and shot put.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the game, the Founder, TASG, Dr Seun Akinbohun, said the event will have the primary and secondary school categories within the age range of eight to 17 years.
She said the TASG is a groundbreaking yearly event set to redefine the athletic landscape in Lagos, adding that the competition encompasses a variety of track and field events, including sprints, middle-distance races, hurdles, shot put, long jump, high jump, and javelin.
