Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol: Mexican claims Gennady Golovkin 'talks a lot of s***'

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez‘s war of words with Gennady Golovkin continued after the Mexican claimed his former opponent ‘talks a lot of s***’.

The 31-year-old – who has previously fought Golovkin twice before already – is currently preparing to challenge Dmitry Bivol for the WBA light heavyweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 7.

The undisputed super-middleweight world champion will reportedly bank £63-million from his two fight deal with DAZN, with Eddie Hearn expressing his delight at working with the current pound-for-pound boxer in the world once again.

It’s been an incredible couple of years for Canelo Alvarez, with the Mexican knocking out Caleb Plant in November to unify the 168lbs division.

Wins against Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders in the United States set him on the road to undisputed, while he also made a mandatory defence of his WBC belt against Avni Yildrim early last year.

And Canelo has also been linked to a trilogy fight against Golovkin later this year.

Alvarez and Golovkin first fought to a draw in Las Vegas in September 2017.

The Mexican won their rematch – which is still disputed to this day – a year later.

However, Golovkin recently claimed that because of the close nature of those first two fights he knows exactly ‘how to open him up’.

Unsurprisingly, it seems Alvarez didn’t take too kindly to Golovkin’s comments, as he swore revenge on his old rival.

Canelo told FightHype.com: “We have this deal, they want the fight with Golovkin, and I say I know everybody wants this fight.

“Maybe a little late, maybe not, but everybody still wants this fight.
