Sarah, Duchess of York, has expressed her overwhelming gratitude for the love and support she has received from people all over the world following her eight-hour single mastectomy operation. The 63-year-old duchess discovered she had early-stage breast cancer during a routine mammogram.

During an episode of her Tea Talks podcast, which was released on Thursday, Sarah spoke about how deeply moved she has been by the messages she has received. She shared one note that said: “You are the strongest, bravest person I know and it’s because of you that I’m still here.”

Sarah said the outpouring of support has given her the strength to move forward. She described the incredible gestures of kindness she has received, including beautiful flowers, letters, and cards.

She was overwhelmed by the love she has received from not only the entire nation but also globally. She said: “It’s just unbelievable. Just extraordinary. And it’s not just the nation but it’s globally and people have been beyond, so yes… just blown away really."

The duchess emphasized that this overwhelming support has given her the determination to continue on her journey and not let anyone down. She expressed her gratitude for the medical professionals who performed the eight-hour surgery and encouraged everyone to get screened.

In discussing her experience, Sarah stressed the importance of not trying to be a superhero and allowing oneself time to heal. She advised taking small steps and trusting the guidance of others. Additionally, she expressed her desire for a mastectomy bra that is both functional and fashionable, as it helps to maintain a sense of femininity and confidence.
