Salford City College celebrates apprenticeship success at annual awards
Apprenticeships play a vital role in shaping the futures of young people across Salford, and for over a decade, Salford City College has been at the forefront of delivering outstanding apprenticeship programmes.
Partnering with leading trainers and employers across the North West, the college has provided students with invaluable education and career opportunities.
The College recently celebrated its apprentices and employer partners at the Annual Apprenticeship Awards, a prestigious event dedicated to recognising excellence in apprenticeships.
The evening began with a lively welcome reception, where guests had the opportunity to network and reflect on their hard-earned achievements.
A musical performance set the tone for the night, adding to the celebratory atmosphere at the College’s elegantly decorated FutureSkills Centre.
The ceremony began with a speech from Allan Milne, Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement, who referred to it as his "favourite event of the year" and expressed pride in the dedication shown by both apprentices and employers over the past 12 months.
Salford City College Group Principal, Rebecca Parks, followed with a warm welcome, acknowledging the efforts of everyone who contributes to making the apprenticeship programmes a success.
A high-energy performance from the Pendleton Sixth Form College's Contemporary Choir then set the stage for the evening’s guest speakers.
Mat Ainsworth, Director of Skills, Work and Inclusive Economy at Salford City Council, and Henry Adu-Opoku, last year's Apprentice of the Year, spoke about the importance of apprenticeships in Salford and the life-changing opportunities they provide for young people and local businesses alike.
