Sadio Mane: Liverpool 'rejected forward's hefty contract demands'

Sadio Mane’s spell at Liverpool looks like it is coming to an end.

The Senegalese international has been brilliant for the club since signing in a £34 million move from Southampton in 2016.

But, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, it is believed he is searching for pastures new this summer.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Sadio Mané has decided to leave Liverpool this summer.

“He’s ready for a new experience after many special years with Reds – it will be confirmed to the club.

“FC Bayern are strong contenders – but it’s still open and not completed as Sadio wanted to wait for the final.”

Mane’s contract with Liverpool runs out next year. Signed in 2018, the contract was believed to be worth £100,000-per-week. That makes him Liverpool’s 12th highest-paid player at the time of writing, per Spotrac.

Among the players that are said to earn more than him are Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner. View the Liverpool players that earn more then Mane below…
