SA's Retief Goosen triumphs on PGA Tour Champions
South African golfer Retief Goosen cruised to victory on the PGA Tour Champions on Sunday.
Goosen carded an 8-under 63 in his final round to claim a four-stroke victory in the Hoag Classic in California.
The 53-year-old was a stroke behind countryman Ernie Els entering the final round, but pulled away quickly at Newport Beach Country Club in breezy but calmer conditions than the players faced on Saturday.
Goosen finished the tournament at 15-under 198.
The win is a noteworthy one for the two-time US Open champion, who underwent shoulder surgery in the off-season. It was his second win on the PGA Tour Champions, having also won the 2019 Senior Players event.

KJ Choi finished second after a final-round 66, while Lee Janzen (69) and Stephen Ames (67) tied for third at 9-under.
Doug Barron and Tim Petrovic each shot 67 to finish at 7-under, while Els - who won the event the last time it was played in 2020 - finished seventh at 6-under after a 73.
Bernhard Langer closed with a 70 to tie for eighth at 5-under. The 64-year-old German won the Chubb Classic in Florida two weeks ago for his 43rd PGA Tour Champions title, two behind Hale Irwin's record.
