Rylan Clark's two-word message for those that 'don't like him' as he addresses 'voice change'

Rylan Clark has shared a very simple message for those who 'don't like him' as he spoke about the change in his public persona over the decade he's been in the public eye.

It was back in 2012 that the TV and radio star burst onto our screens on The X Factor in 2012 where he was mentored by Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

He ended up finishing the ITV singing competition, after THAT memorable crying scenes, in fifth place and soon his Big Brother opportunity came around again, after attempts to appear on the show in 2006, and he won Celebrity Big Brother 11 in 2013.

The rest, as they say, is history and Rylan's career has gone from strength to strength with him now leading his own Saturday afternoon show on BBC Radio 2 and hosting multiple TV shows.

"I think over the years I’ve been very lucky with what I’ve done," Rylan told the Mirror during a break hosting charity event JustGiving Awards on Wednesday (September 18).

And there's also a reason you won't have seen him change in all of that time. He said: "If you met me before or after The X Factor you’d think he was the f***ing same person! I could have changed really, really easily with the life I’ve got and the bank account that came with it. My mum would hit me [if I lost myself]. There isn’t no way I couldn’t not be grounded from her."

However, Rylan explains that 'Ross' - his birth name and non-showbiz self - is more prevalent now than it's ever been. "Yeah, I do show a lot more of Ross now than I did in the early days because I’m lazy and I don’t put the Rylan voice on as much. But 'Rylan' is my armour."
