Rwanda hold Nigeria as Eagles maintain lead in Group D

Nigeria did all but put the ball in the net legally, yesterday, at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali, where they met hosts, Rwanda, in a Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Nigeria had the ball in the net, though, but the centre referee disallowed the goal, ruling that Victor Osimhen was offside when he nodded the ball to Ademola Lookman to score.

Victor Boniface wasted a glorious opportunity in the 25th minute, and in the 37th minute, Onyemaechi failed to capitalise as Boniface’s shot rocked the upright and bounced back into play.
