Eguavoen to lead Super Eagles against Libya, B Team in 2024 CHAN campaign

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Augustine Eguavoen will continue in his role as Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

This decision was approved by the NFF Executive Committee following the recommendation of the Federation’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.

Eguavoen, who currently serves as the NFF Technical Director, will lead the Super Eagles in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya next month.

The 58-year-old coach had earlier guided the team to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda during Matchdays 1 and 2 of the qualifiers.

In addition to his duties with the senior national team, Eguavoen, along with his technical crew—comprising Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec—will also oversee the Super Eagles B team in their campaign for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Following the departure of Randy Waldrum, the NFF Executive Committee also approved the appointment of Coach Justin Madugu as the interim head of the Super Falcons’ technical crew.

Madugu will lead the Senior Women National Team in their preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which is scheduled to take place in Morocco next summer, until a substantive Head Coach is appointed.
