Ruud van Nistelrooy manager stance clear as Manchester United inundated with 'offers'

Erik ten Hag is still the Manchester United manager after several meetings between key members of the club's leadership team at Old Trafford on Monday.

Co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer, chief executive Omar Berrada, Ineos head of sport Sir Dave Brailsford and Gary Neville, who is on the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force, were all present throughout the day. All but the latter, plus sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox, will also attend an executive committee meeting in London today.

Football Insider claims first-team coach Ruud van Nistelrooy would be interested in replacing Erik ten Hag as United manager and wants to accept an offer should one materialise. The Guardian says he is under consideration as an interim appointment, with it acknowledged that wanting the position full-time would determine whether he receives such a role.

MEN Sport says: Thomas Tuchel still being out of work and again under consideration by United as a potential replacement means there is no need for an interim appointment. The club has been there with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick and, most damningly, Ralf Rangnick, with none ultimately working out well in the long term, as emphasised by United being back in this position all over again.
