Russell Martin warns change is coming at Swansea City as boss gives Hannes Wolf update for Bournemouth

Russell Martin admits he expects another significant turnover of players in the summer in a bid to ensure Swansea City can be as competitive as possible in the 2022/23 campaign.

The head coach signed five players during the January transfer window while several others departed on loan in a bid to develop ahead of next season.

The raft of changes came after Martin brought in the likes of Michael Obafemi, Flynn Downes and Jamie Paterson after arriving at the club in August last year.

But the 36-year-old believes the Swans need more players who are suited to the demands of the current coaching regime.

"I think so," responded Martin when asked if a summer overhaul is likely.

"We've changed a lot, I probably would have liked to have changed a bit more.

"We want to play a certain way and it requires a certain character and physical profile.

"We have some excellent players here, some who are unbelievably well suited to it, some who are not ideally suited to it, but that doesn't make them bad players.

"We have what we have until the end of the season, and I'm happy with that, the guys we have got."

Swansea's loss to Sheffield United last time out means they have now lost three away games in succession with an aggregate score of 9-0.

However, they have won their previous two outings on home soil ahead of Tuesday night's clash with promotion hopefuls Bournemouth at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Hannes Wolf sat out Saturday's 4-0 defeat to the Blades at Bramall Lane due to a hamstring concern, although Martin is hopeful the Austrian will be available for selection against the Cherries.
