Radio Marathon: 1,000 New Super Friends for Children with Cancer

On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, Tabletochki Foundation in collaboration with Radio NV and ALLO hold a charity radio marathon that unites 1,000 people for regular help to children with cancer.

The second National Charity Radio Marathon was held on 15-16 February on the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day. That’s the day when people all over the world raise the question of childhood cancer awareness and express support for cancer-stricken children and their families. For two days in a row, at the Radio NV studio representatives, friends and ambassadors of the Foundation discussed the problems of childhood cancer in Ukraine, as well as the importance and convenience of regular help provision to cancer-stricken kids.

Thanks to the Radio Marathon, the team of ‘super friends’, i.e. people who make their own regular contribution to the systemic fight against childhood cancer, got 1,000 new members who subscribed to regular donations of nearly ₴240,000. The partner of the event was ALLO Company that donated another ₴260,000 for the children to receive vital help of half a million hryvnias.

Every year, there are about 1,000 new diagnosed cases of childhood cancer in Ukraine. In the developed countries, childhood cancer survival rate is 80% vs. 50% in Ukraine. It is regular help that allows children to receive essential treatment timely, which is extremely important since pauses in the treatment or administration of medications may bring to naught previously provided treatment.
