Russell Brand turns unlikely Ange cheerleader as 'uncle' Postecoglou 'sold Elvis and got the Beatles' at Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou's profile has grown exponentially since joining Tottenham and even Russell Brand is impressed by the Greek-Aussie's leadership.

The 58-year-old Spurs coach has been serenaded by rockstar Robbie Williams, quizzed on Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave, and now has earned the plaudits of comedian and actor Brand. The Aussie's infectious attitude, something Celtic fans were no stranger to during his successful two years in Glasgow, has taken the self-proclaimed West Ham fanatic by surprise and he insists the English Premier League has never seen 'anything' like Postecoglou. It's a familiar feeling from those of the Tottenham persuasion, with the majority of the manager’s new squad also feeling the love.

Former Take That singer Williams started the hype train by posting a rendition of his hit single 'Angels' modified for Postecoglou. The lyrics read: “You can keep your Pochettino, Conte and Mourinho, and even Christian Gross. 'Cause everywhere we go … I’m loving Big Ange instead," which the Aussie hilariously reacted to in a press conference.

But even Brand singled out the clip on his Football is Nice podcast and reckons he loves Postecoglou and that England's top flight has never seen a man of his character.

He said: "I love, you love and everyone loves Postecoglou. Let's face it, even if don't like Tottenham and let's face it, few people do. What I love about him is he is like that uncle style Tottenham fan. Postecoglou, I would love a manager like that because of the football yes, it's wonderful and it's lit him up at Tottenham.
