Rugby LIVE: England exclude two key men from squad as hero reduced to tears

The autumn internationals are almost here, with Wales set to name their squad on Tuesday. It will mark the beginning of a new era for Welsh rugby, with new boss Steve Tandy tasked with the challenge of changing the fortunes of the country at Test level.

It was a dismal period under Warren Gatland, who failed to win a single game after the 2023 World Cup, before being axed during the Six Nations earlier this year. Tandy has brought in Duncan Jones, Dan Lydiate, Rhys Patchell and more to help him bring Wales out of the abyss and Argentina lay in wait on November 9.

Kicking off the autumn internationals, though, are England and Australia, who will lock horns at Allianz Stadium on November 1. Ahead of this match, Steve Borthwick has named his initial training squad and there have been a couple of notable omissions.
