Rugby LIVE: England sensation dropped from squad as coach blown away by new star
A busy autumn of rugby is officially underway, with some of the world's top teams in action over the weekend.
At Twickenham, England kicked off their campaign in style with an ultimately comfortable win over Australia, with tries from British & Irish Lions tourists Ben Earl, Henry Pollock, Alex Mitchell and Luke Cowan-Dickie helped Steve Borthwick's side to a 25-7 victory. Over at Wembley, meanwhile, the reigning world champion Springboks were putting Japan to the sword with a 61-7 thumping.
That scoreline would later be outdone by Gregor Townsend's Scotland, however, as they crushed the USA in a 13-try, 85-0 demolition job at Murrayfield on Saturday night.
The big event of the weekend, however, was Ireland's clash with New Zealand in Chicago, where they recorded a famous win nine years ago. However, history did not repeat itself for Andy Farrell's side, who fell to a 13-26 defeat at the hands of the All Blacks.
The four matches threw up plenty of talking points, from Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt's accusation towards England at the full-time whistle to the Irish red card that has baffled rugby fans and pundits across the world.
With much to discuss from those incidents, and much to look forward to ahead of another action-packed weekend, WalesOnline brings you the latest rugby news and updates from across the world.
