Ruck joins McIntosh as only Canadians to win 3 titles in 3 different strokes at a national trials

Taylor Ruck joined elite company on Day 3 of Canadian national swimming trials in Montreal on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old Kelowna native won the women's 100-metre butterfly with a time of 58.15 seconds, joining Summer McIntosh as the only swimmers to capture three titles in three different strokes at a single Canadian national trials.

"That's definitely the first time I'm hearing this information, so that's pretty cool," Ruck told CBC Sports's Devin Heroux after the race.

Ruck's latest title follows her 100m backstroke win on Sunday and 100m freestyle on Monday.

"It's Day 3, I have an event each day, and thank God they're just sprint events, so I really just have to focus on two laps and one lap," Ruck said.

"For each different race it's like a whole new world, so I feel like I'm having a lot of fun at this point, figuring it out and honing it."
