Ruben Neves makes transfer admission amid Manchester United links

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves has made a transfer admission amid links with a move to Manchester United.

Neves has previously been linked with a move to the club with United having initially weighed up a transfer for him in January. When Erik ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford, attentions turned towards Frenkie de Jong.

However, his move from Barcelona fizzled out and Casemiro's purchase was swiftly wrapped up on Monday. United are still on the lookout for a midfielder despite the deal for the ex-Real Madrid man and it would not be a surprise if the Portuguese international is still on the radar.

Speaking post-match, Neves made an admission about his future which could be bad news for Wolves supporters. He told The Times about a potential transfer: "Well, let’s see what happens.

"I try to focus 100 per cent on my football and I had a good start to the season but we need results now. If you ask me at the end of last season I would have said to you, ‘I will leave’ but I’m still here, so we never know what’s going to happen."

The 25-year-old did his chances of a move to Old Trafford no harm on Sunday in the draw with Newcastle United. Neves scored a sublime strike to give the west midlands club the lead at Molineux.

It was not to be for Bruno Lage's men though as Allan Saint-Maximin grabbed an equaliser at the death to rescue a point for the away team.
