Wolves: Bruno Lage could make 'really exciting' change at Molineux

Wolves potentially lining up with Diego Costa, Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes is a really exciting prospect, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Midlands club recently brought Costa in on a free transfer, and O’Rourke thinks he could be a very useful player for manager Bruno Lage this season.

Sasa Kalajdzic arrived at Molineux during the summer transfer window as an alternative to Raul Jimenez.

However, in just his first game for the club, a 1-0 win against Southampton, the former Stuttgart man suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, leaving Wolves extremely light up front.

As a result, Lage decided to bring in Costa, who was a free agent after leaving Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in January.

The 33-year-old is experienced at this level, having played in the Premier League 89 times during his time at Chelsea, so recruiting him made a lot of sense.

O’Rourke thinks the possibility of Costa, Nunes, another recent signing, and Neves all playing together is mouthwatering.

When asked how exciting could it be to see the Wolves trio all in the same team against Manchester City, the journalist said to GIVEMESPORT: “It’s a real exciting prospect. If Diego Costa can get himself fully fit and firing again, he’ll be a real asset to that Wolves team. He’s had a great track record wherever he’s been.”

It is unlikely. During his Chelsea days, Costa was easily one of the best strikers in the Premier League and probably in Europe.

He scored 21 goals in his first season at Stamford Bridge and 22 in his final campaign there. However, since then, there has been a decline.
