Ruben Amorim to take training but Manchester United still face visa wait

Ruben Amorim will take training as Manchester United head coach for the first time on Monday after his visa to officially start work in the role was approved.

United's non-internationals will report to Carrington as Amorim and his backroom staff prepare for the 39-year-old's first game in charge against Ipswich Town next Sunday.

Four members of the backroom team that Amorim bought with him from Sporting have also had their visas approved, with United only waiting on approval for 28-year-old first-team coach Adelio Candidio. There is not expected to be any issues with that final visa.

A significant number of United's first-team squad are away on international duty, but some key players, including Casemiro, Mason Mount, Antony, and Marcus Rashford, will still be about to work with Amorim and his staff in the early part of the week.

Lisandro Martinez withdrew from the Argentina squad and will be assessed on his return to Carrington. Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo will also be in as they continue their rehab from recent injury problems. Amorim aims to put an identity into his United team in his early weeks in charge of the first team.
