Manchester United get double injury boost ahead of Europa League fixture vs Bodo/Glimt

Manchester United have been boosted by the returns of centre-backs Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire to first-team training ahead of Thursday night's Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford.

Martinez was absent for United's 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon after suffering a back injury in the 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford prior to the international that forced him to withdraw from the Argentina squad.

Maguire, meanwhile, has missed each of United's last eight matches after suffering a muscle injury in the goalless draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park on October 6.

But the duo were involved in the club's open training session at Carrington on Wednesday morning, offering encouragement they could be included in Ruben Amorim's plans for his first home game in charge. United were light on centre-backs at Portman Road, travelling to Suffolk without Victor Lindelof, Leny Yoro, Maguire and Martinez.

Yoro was missing from training on Wednesday morning as he was on a designated recovery day, likewise Jonny Evans. Yoro is not yet participating in every training session after so long sidelined.

Amid their centre-back shortage at the weekend, 16-year-old Godwill Kukonki was included in the travelling squad, but he was left out of the matchday squad by Amorim.

United lined up with a back-three against Ipswich, with Amorim handing starts to Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt and Evans. De Ligt started in the centre of the trio and is expected to be a mainstay in Amorim's plans once he is finds himself in a position to unleash his strongest defensive line.
