Ruben Amorim has done what Erik ten Hag couldn't after repairing 'rock bottom' Man United star
Joshua Zirkzee scored a brace for Manchester United against Everton on Sunday. It's the first time the Dutchman has netted twice in a game since arriving at United for £36.5million from Bologna over the summer.
Zirkzee made his debut off the bench on the opening day of the season against Fulham and scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win for United. With Rasmus Hojlund out injured, many felt that was going to be the start of a successful and impressive first season at Old Trafford for the 23-year-old.
However, Zirkzee endured somewhat of a dry spell in front of goal after that. In fact, the Netherlands international went 16 games without a goal and struggled for form while playing under Erik ten Hag before he was sacked in October and then Ruud van Nistelrooy during his interim stint.

A report over the international break revealed how Zirkzee was at 'rock bottom' and his confidence was 'shattered'. It was added that Amorim was aware of Zirkzee's struggles and was faced with the task of turning his form on its head heading into another busy fixture schedule.
But Zirkzee, who came on as a substitute in both of Ruben Amorim's first two matches in charge, was handed a rare start against Everton and he impressed throughout. The Dutchman appeared to pay back Amorim's trust by scoring twice and helping United to a thumping 4-0 win at Old Trafford.
