Ruben Amorim gives 'simple' reason for dropping Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana
Ruben Amorim has insisted Andre Onana is on Manchester United's bench due to "rotation".
Amorim said his United side might be the worst team in the club's history after defeat to Brighton last weekend and four changes have been made in an attempt to provoke a response.
Onana made a huge mistake against Brighton and he's been dropped, which has seen Altay Bayindir given his first start since his excellent display against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Lisandro Martinez has come into the starting team for Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen has replaced Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer is set to start at the expense of Manuel Ugarte.
Collyer has made a handful of positive appearances from the bench this season and will make his first start for United in Europe. The youngster was handed his first-team debut in the Community Shield in August and will be desperate to take his chance against Rangers.
Speaking ahead of kick-off at Old Trafford, Amorim spoke to MUTV about his team selection and said: "When you have a game on Thursday and a very difficult match on Sunday, we have to use all the players, if not it's impossible to play at the same level fresh without injuries. They have to be ready for every match, so it's an opportunity for everybody to play and try to win.
"He [Collyer] has very good legs, he's improving with the ball. So he's young and he knows what he needs to do to play for this club and he feels the club in the right way. He's really humble, so he has the opportunity. When you work hard, you get the opportunity."
Amorim discussed Onana and said: "It's rotation, we have to rotate. Nowadays, if you want two top goalkeepers, you have to give them playing time, so that's simple and try to use the abilities of each one of
