Ruben Amorim explains Old Trafford meeting before Manchester United press conference

Manchester United are attempting to improve the connection among staff working at Old Trafford and Carrington.

Morale has plummeted at the club this calendar year after new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe initiated a cost-cutting regime that resulted in 250 employees being made redundant.

New head coach Ruben Amorim attended an all-staff meeting that involved a Q&A at Old Trafford on Monday and his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game at Arsenal on Wednesday was held afterwards.

Ratcliffe was heckled by several supporters inside and outside Old Trafford on Sunday as they protested a sudden ticket price hike to £66. Fan groups were not consulted on the unprecedented mid-season measure and Ratcliffe was not at Monday's meeting at the stadium.

"We had a meeting with all the staff, trying to correct everybody," Amorim explained, "the sports departments, this facility, the people far from Carrington. We are trying to build a connection to be a bit closer, Carrington and the stadium, together and that was the reason.

"That (a connection) is something that you cannot buy, the pedigree, the size of the club, this is something we have to use. So it's a key point for us, also improving the good things, creating a connection with everybody to put this club in the place that it needs to be."

Amorim also described Noussair Mazraoui as "the future" of United. United signed the 26-year-old from Bayern Munich for a fee rising to £17million in July and Mazraoui has played in all 21 of their games so far this season.

"In training, I don’t see a lot but in games he’s a top player," Amorim added,
