Ruben Amorim discovered his first Manchester United challenge during Chelsea fixture
Ruben Amorim will officially start work at Manchester United next week but it would be naive to think he isn't already making plans.
Amorim is one of Europe's most exciting young coaches and detailed his vision for United when he was approached by Ineos' delegation after Erik ten Hag's departure.
The 39-year-old studied for a postgraduate degree at the University of Lisbon in 2017 with the help of Jose Mourinho just a few years ago and will have done his homework on United. One player United fans will be hoping Amorim can get the best out of is his former midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte played the best football of his career during his time under Amorim at Sporting Lisbon, however, he's taken a few backward steps since departing for Paris Saint-Germain.
The 23-year-old is set to be reunited with Amorim and should be a big winner from his appointment. Ugarte played his best football in Amorim's 3-4-3 system, but he's played in a 4-3-3 since arriving in Manchester and his performances have been mixed.
Ugarte was quietly impressive in the 5-2 victory over Leicester City in midweek but looked off the pace when making just his second start in the Premier League against Chelsea.
It didn't take long to recognise that Chelsea were winning the midfield battle and Ugarte was struggling alongside Casemiro in the centre of the pitch. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia were able to control the game and there were holes popping up in front of the back line.
Ugarte's passing was wayward and there was a moment in the second half when Matthijs de Ligt felt the need to hand out a rollocking to Ugarte for shying away from an aerial duel.
