Ruben Amorim could be about to get even more out of Manchester United star

Former Ivory Coast international Seydou Doumbia believes Amad can become Manchester United's very own version of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

Amad has been one of United's best performers so far this season and has scored two goals and claimed one assist in his last two appearances. Prior to fully establishing himself as a first-team regular at the start of this season, the Ivorian was a player United supporters were desperate to see given a meaningful opportunity.

Amad has been one of United's most vibrant players, constantly looking to try and make something happen when in possession. As a result, Doumbia, who once had a loan spell at Sporting Lisbon, has compared his fellow countryman with Arsenal and England ace Saka, who is widely considered as one of the best wingers in the world.

"He's had times where he's struggled, but I think this season he's been absolutely brilliant, overall," said Doumbia. "He absolutely deserves a new contract.

"Manchester United can't afford to rest on their laurels. He's a winger worth more than €40million (£33.4m). "I love the way he receives the ball, is calm, his awareness of his surroundings and, of course, the big goals and chances he creates. He can be Ruben Amorim's Bukayo Saka."

As reported by the Manchester Evening News in September, United are set to offer Amad a new long-term contract. He is now inside the final year of his current deal but United have the option to extend his stay until the summer of 2026.
