RTÉ Sport confirms League of Ireland and FAI Cup September broadcasts

RTÉ Sport has announced it will broadcast two SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division games featuring Shamrock Rovers, and the Derry City-Shelbourne Sports Direct FAI Cup quarter-final next month.

The five-in-a-row-chasing Hoops will host Sligo Rovers on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player on Friday, 13 September at 7.45pm.

League leaders Derry City and second-placed Shelbourne meet in the FAI Cup the following day, their clash at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium kicking off at 5.45pm on 14 September.

RTÉ Sport are back in Derry the following week as the Candystripes host Shamrock Rovers on Friday, 20 September (7.45pm).

The League of Ireland has also confirmed two new dates for previously postponed Premier Division games.

Galway United v Shamrock Rovers, originally scheduled for 3 June 2024, will now be played on Monday, 16 September while Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians, originally scheduled for 7 June 2024, will now be played on Monday, 23 September.

The first three FAI Cup quarter-finals - Athlone Town v Drogheda United, UCD v Bohemians and Wexford v Treaty United - will all be played on Friday, 13 September at 7.45pm, which will necessitate fresh dates for the league fixtures the eight quarter-finalists are currently scheduled to play that night.
