RTÉ GAA Podcast: O'Rourke on Galway-Armagh brawl

Quiet weekend of Gaelic football, not much to discuss, but we got Colm O'Rourke on to look back on it anyway with Mikey Stafford and Rory O'Neill.

We jest, obviously.

We focus on the epic Galway-Armagh quarter-final, which was marred by a brawl at the end of normal time.

Colm is uninterested in separate tunnels or limiting the numbers on sidelines, he insists individual responsibility must take precedence, and cites Armagh's two prior involvements in brawls this season.

The game itself deserves to be celebrated as Galway fought back from a trio of goalkeeping errors to force penalties at the end of extra-time, where they held their nerve.

They will face Derry, who looked hugely impressive in their win over Clare, but Colm is still unconvinced by Rory Gallagher's team as they fail to rack up significant point tallies.

Rory feels sorry for Mayo's old guard as another season ends without All-Ireland glory, but he does not think all is lost after their defeat to Kerry. A season free of significant injuries to key forwards would help, as would the retention of James Horan - but that looks unlikely at the moment.

A nervy looking Kerry did enough and will face old foes Dublin the semi-finals, who themselves looked a little off colour, despite comfortably beating Cork.

Another faultless free-taking performance from Dean Rock saw him notch nine points, but they are a team that will be desperate to get James McCarthy and Con O'Callaghan back fit for the Kingdom.
