Lorraine Kelly offers health update as she returns to self-titled ITV show after being sent home

Lorraine Kelly has issued a health update after her sudden absence from her ITV show. The TV presenter was back at the helm of her self-titled ITV show on Monday morning (February 27) after taking half of last week off after being sent home from the London-based studios.

While she had headed into work as normal last Wednesday (February 22), Lorraine was actually forced to leave before going live on air after falling ill. The Scottish TV star confirmed she will not be on her show after she failed to show up for her usual mid-show crossover with Good Morning Britain to tease what was coming up on her show.

Taking to Twitter, Lorraine confirmed she was unwell with a "hideous" bug and was gutted to miss her planned interview with Queen star Adam Lambert.

"When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT!" the 63-year-old typed on social media. She then added: "Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!" before the well wishes came flooding in from her famous pals and caring followers.

Lorraine was swiftly replaced by Ranvir Singh and she has since shared her thanks to her ITV co-star for jumping to the rescue when she appeared on GMB to tease what was to come on Monday's show. "Much better, thank you," Lorraine said when she was asked if she was feeling better by Ed Balls.

"And can I say a massive thank you to Ranvir, who when I was sent home on Wednesday, rushed in and saved the day. Thank you so much, love, as always," Lorraine said before branding the former Strictly Come
