Roy Keane sends Sir Jim Ratcliffe brutally honest Erik ten Hag verdict as Man United issue clear
Roy Keane believes Erik ten Hag should be given more time to prove himself as Manchester United manager. The Dutchman currently faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
In his debut season, Ten Hag led the Red Devils to third place in the Premier League. The former Ajax boss also managed to get his hands on some silverware, defeating Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final.
Unfortunately for Ten Hag, he couldn't quite guide Manchester United to FA Cup glory, losing 2-1 to Manchester City at the last hurdle. While the 54-year-old showcased some promising signs, his maiden campaign was tarnished by heavy defeats to Brentford, Liverpool and Sevilla.

This term, Ten Hag hasn't enjoyed nearly as much success; Manchester United currently rank eighth in the Premier League table with two games left to play. Unless the Red Devils defeat Pep Guardiola's side in the FA Cup final later this month, they could be without European football for the first time in 10 years.
Despite this, Keane sent Sir Jim Ratcliffe a crystal clear message. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "I’d like to think so, but there have been genuine problems at the club.
"The injuries in the back four and he has been honest with that. But, with the more games you are losing and being eighth in the table, yeah, you end up losing that belief.
"I would never sit in the studio and hope for a manager to lose his job. I hope he is given more time and they can get to the summer, restructure and regroup.
