Roy Keane names 10 players Manchester United should let go amid Marcus Rashford verdict

Roy Keane says the jury is still out on Marcus Rashford amid his temperamental Manchester United form but has identified 10 players Erik ten Hag should get rid of.

Appearing on the latest episode of the ‘Stick To Football’ podcast, the former United captain was asked to decide whether to ‘keep’ or ‘ditch’ a current squad member, or state that they were on their ‘last straw’. Gary Neville read out each United first-team member with fellow panellists Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright also asked to give their verdict.

When it came to Rashford, Keane said he was on the fence. The attacker - last season’s top scorer with 30 goals - was dropped for Wednesday’s win over Chelsea amid a poor run of form that has seen him score just twice in his 19 club appearances so far.

“I’m not sure about Marcus [Rashford],” Keane said. “The whole package – personality, his mood swings. He’s a talented player, but if you’re not going to work hard, and he’s having these dips every now and again, there’s all this talk about his confidence, off the field stuff. Just turn up every week and do the business.”

Keane added: “Marcus is 26. When’s the penny going to drop for him?”

Going through the list of players, Keane decided that 10 members of the squad are not up to standard and should be offloaded going forwards.

Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot, Jonny Evans, loanee Sofyan Amrabat, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho all fell under this category.
