Roy Keane moved by Ian Wright’s ‘powerful’ interview with Boreham Wood’s Adrian Clifton

Roy Keane proved that his heart isn’t made of stone after watching Ian Wright’s ‘powerful’ interview with Boreham Wood forward Adrian Clifton.

Clifton, 33, spent time in prison as a youngster after failing to make the grade at Arsenal, Norwich City and West Ham.

During his last prison sentence, in 2009, Clifton appeared on ‘Football Behind Bars’ – a TV show hosted by Ian Wright, whose mission was to help imprisoned youths change their lives.

Clifton moved to Boreham Wood after leaving Dagenham & Redbridge in 2021 and fired the National League side through to the FA Cup fourth round by scoring the winning goal in 2-1 win against Wimbledon in January.

That goal set up a fourth-round tie against Championship high-fliers Bournemouth, and Wright conducted a heartwarming interview with Clifton prior to the game.

What a beautiful story.

“Ah, brilliant,” Keane said after the interview finished,
