Roy Keane makes bold Manchester United prediction that will anger Arsenal and Tottenham fans

Roy Keane has confidently predicted Manchester United will secure a place in next season's Champions League by finishing in the top four this term.

United are currently in fourth in the Premier League table, sitting on 46 points, four above Arsenal and seven clear of Tottenham, but the north London clubs both have three games in hand on their rivals.

There are five teams still in the running for a top four spot, realistically: Man United, West Ham United, Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham. However, with such an imbalance in the 'games played' column, there are no clear favourites at the time of writing.

Although Keane does not agree with that. The former Manchester United captain has backed his old club to go on and secure a place in next season's Champions League at the expense of Arsenal and Tottenham.

Speaking on Sky Sports after United beat Leeds United 4-2 at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, the Irishman said: "I think United will be fine with fourth, I really do.

"There has been a lot of noise about players wanting to leave or contract situations with [Paul] Pogba or Jesse Lingard, but they just need to focus on the next few months as they are big for the club.

"They have to try and get that top four spot and they have a big European match coming up - focus on that and your games.

"Then you have a chance to regroup in the summer regarding obviously the manager and they will be looking at recruitment.

"They need to keep their heads, keep focused and show the quality, like they did today, and they should be okay."

Keane's former Man United team-mate and now fellow Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville, thinks the club are in a strong position for the top four race, but was more cautious than his colleague.
