Roy Keane gives early Man City prediction and explains what Manchester United must do in derby

Roy Keane believes Manchester United will need to find their clinical edge in the Manchester derby on Sunday.

The legendary Reds midfielder has offered his early thoughts on the second clash of the two English giants this season as Ralf Rangnick gears up for his first meeting with Pep Guardiola in the Premier League.

Manchester City go into the clash on the back of two below-par wins over Everton and Peterborough United whereas United will need to clear their minds of the disappointing Watford stalemate.

Keane has outlined what the Reds need to do in order to get one over their foes as they look to keep their Champions League hopes alive with Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur all vying for the final spot in the top four.

The former United skipper speaking to ITV Football said: "I’m looking forward to it, another test for City, they’ve been fantastic over recent years. But Man United, hopefully, they will turn up and do a job on them.

"The best thing for United is to be on the counter-attack, City will dominate possession like they always do but United on the counter-attack, they've been creating chances lately - not been taking them. But they’ll have to do that Sunday because they won’t get many."

United were tepid during their last meeting in November as Guardiola's side brushed them aside at Old Trafford but this time around both sides have it all to play for.

The visitors are looking to reaffirm their European credentials whilst City will be hoping to extend their lead at the top to nine points ahead of nearest challengers Liverpool.
