Roy Keane details lesson Man Utd stars must learn from "upset" Liverpool and Man City
Roy Keane has demanded a reaction from Manchester United 's players upon being dropped as he makes Liverpool and Manchester City comparisons. The Red Devils bounced back from their Manchester derby humiliation of last week with a dramatic 3-2 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo netted a stunning hat-trick to become the FIFA recognised all-time record goalscorer and bail out United. Gary Neville lamented a lack of "faith, trust and belief" throughout the club after the match.
While former captain Keane has since issued United's players with a warning amid reports of disgruntlement among the ranks, calling for the club's stars to show some "fight". United have endured their fair share of struggles this season, and Ralf Rangnick has often found himself having to address speculation over the squad's unrest.
Last week, Marcus Rashford became the latest member of United's current crop to reportedly express his unhappiness over a perceived lack of game-time. Keane has since insisted the club's players must take inspiration from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City and show a reaction to their "upset" at being left out.
The Irishman told Sky Sports on Saturday: "If players get left out, I expect them to be upset. Liverpool and Man City players when they miss games they’re upset. It’s how you manage that."
Keane went on to reaffirm his stance that the attitude of United's squad isn't good enough and lacks "spirit and fight".
