Roy Keane delivers brutal Erling Haaland 'League Two player' putdown as Man City and Arsenal draw

Roy Keane has slammed Erling Haaland's performance for Manchester City against Arsenal with a 'League Two player' claim.

City had the chance to climb above Arsenal in the Premier League table in the meeting at the Etihad Stadium. However, Pep Guardiola's side were held to a goalless draw against the Gunners to lose ground in the title race.

Liverpool's win over Brighton earlier in the day saw them move to the top of the table. City's draw with Arsenal leaves them third in the standings, three points behind Liverpool with nine fixtures left to play.

Haaland had very few opportunities in front of goal against Arsenal, as City struggled to create any clear-cut chances. However, it's the other side of Haaland's game that Keane was not impressed with on Sunday afternoon.

Keane worked as a pundit for Sky Sports and was critical of Haaland's all-round game in the stalemate against Arsenal. The Manchester United legend also went on to explain why the City striker is 'almost like a League Two player' at times.

"The level of his [Haaland] general play is so poor - not just today," Keane told Sky Sports. "He’s laying stuff off, headers or whatever it might be.

"In front of goal, he’s the best in the world but for his general play for such a player, it is so poor. Not just today.

"He has to improve that. He’s almost like a League Two player - that’s the way I look at him. His general play has to improve.

"It will do over the next few years. Brilliant striker but he has to prove his overall game. [He] has to."

Haaland has scored 29
