Round up of all the key developments planned for Greater Manchester

Three big housing developments have dominated the planning portals across Greater Manchester - all of which relate to the two city-boroughs.

A total of 689 new homes could be created in Salford if the latest plans get approved. The major regeneration of the Pendleton and Middlewood locks area are both waiting on a decision before building work can start.

Over in Manchester’s Rusholme area there is a new apartment block that is seeking approval despite getting knocked back in December last year.

New food hall at Bolton Market to open early in 2024

A new food hall in Bolton market with communal dining benches and up to nine dining and drinks outlets is set to open in the new year.

Early 2024 will see the final stages of work at the new venue, which hopes to attract diners to the market until later in the evening.

Only smaller applications have been submitted to Bury Council this week. The plans included house extensions and modifications to plans already approved by the council.

Four-storey apartment block planned for Rusholme

A revitalised plan to build a 42-home apartment block on the edge of Rusholme has been tabled by developers after being refused last year.

The site on the corner of Wilmslow Road and Grandale Street would consist of 30 two-bed and 12 one-bed flats. The ground floor, currently home to Huqqa Lounge Cafe, would be split into space for six commercial units for shops and cafes.
