Round two action from the Wigmore CC Evening 10 mile time trial series, Iwade

Ed Everall made his first appearance at the 2022 Wigmore CC Evening Time Trial event and showed why he’s one to watch.

Everall should have started last week’s race, but had to withdraw at the last minute due to technical issues, and produced a quick ride to finish equal third with 25min26sec.

The Wigmore CC rider is fairly new to the sport but will certainly be another rider to watch this year at the sharp end of the field.

Former Wigmore CC multiple club champion Richard Masters has finally started to go quicker again after a long time out, with a 27.31 finishing time for the windy 10 miles of the Iwade course.

There was no change at the top of the order for the second round of the TT competition, with Steve Gibson taking top spot in a time of 23.50.

Yet another nagging, cold easterly wind made it another tough test for the 13 riders brave enough to take to the start.

As with last week’s opening event, Gibson put 30 seconds between himself and Wigmore’s Keith Walker who finished in a comfortable second place.

Young Luke Gibson delivered another cracking performance to take the Junior trophy points again in 25.26, matching the efforts of Everall.

Other Wigmore finishers were seniors Phil Appleby (25.30) and Jamie Harris (25.59), riding ahead of Vets Julien Barton (26.39), Dave Wastall (26.59), Richard Masters (27.31), Duncan Tippins (27.39), Steve Harman (29.41) and Stephen Bishop (30.50).
