Ross McCrorie joins Aberdeen serenade with Mattie Pollock as they lead fans in 'Hearts are falling apart' chant

Mattie Pollock and Ross McCrorie have been spotted lapping up a momentous Aberdeen night - and threw in some goading of Hearts too.

A Graeme Shinnie double and Leighton Clarkson free-kick ensured a 3-0 win over St Mirren on Wednesday night, clinching European football next season and the Premiership's third place. Now the Dons are hoping for a Celtic win in the Scottish Cup final that would see them book guaranteed European group stage football and the riches that come with it.

It's been a remarkable turnaround under new boss Barry Robson, who has turned around an 11-point deficit on Hearts into guaranteed best of the rest placement behind Celtic and Rangers going into matchday 38. Watford loanee Pollock and McCrorie have been key through this and social media footage shows them going back out to the Red Shed after full-time, the former quietening the crowd before all in the area bounced to the Aberdeen punters remaining chanting 'Hearts are falling apart again' to the tune of the Joy Division's Love Will Tear us Apart.

Chairman Dave Cormack said on Twitter of the third place achievement: "Delighted for Barry, players & fellow Don fans that we clinched third place. Scottish cup final still to be played before we know if we’re guaranteed Europa conference league group stages but I’m just so very happy for everyone who works so hard at the club & our fans."
