Ross County star's dad in Celtic penalty rage as VAR fury backed up by Andy Walker over 'totally ridiculous' call

The decision to hand Celtic a penalty against Ross County has prompted fury in the Staggies camp and commentary gantry.

As the first half between the pair in Dingwall approached its conclusion at 0-0, Cameron Carter-Vickers appeared to head the ball onto the arm of Alex Iacovitti. After a VAR check, Willie Collum opted to point to the spot, Kyogo converting and setting a long road back for County against a side who have not lost on the last 101 occasions they were ahead in the Premiership at the interval.

Striker Jordan White is leading the line for Malky Mackay's men and his dad Billy took to social media to share his dismay, saying his side have been given a harsh punishment by the video assistance. He said: "What a joke. Celtic say they don't get VAR decisions well they certainly did today on stroke of half time Totally ridiculous .

"Ross County very disciplined performance. Kicked in the teeth by lack of common sense by VAR operators."

And co-commentator for the match on Sky Sports, Andy Walker, was equally scathing in his opinion as the tech was accused of nit-picking. As the second half rolled on, he held nothing back in his assessment.

When the camera panned to County boss Mackay, Walker had an idea of what he saying to the fourth official: "What do you mean we're getting beat 1-0? It's still a joke decision the penalty, it's not what VAR was brought in for."
