Rory MacLeod wanted by Southampton as Dundee United kid subject of deadline day interest

Southampton are in talks with Dundee United over a deadline day move for Rory MacLeod.

The Scotland under-19 international was down for a club visit with the English Premier League club earlier this month. The Saints are now trying to see if a deal can be done before the close of the window. The talented 18-year-old has already been involved in the United first-team for the last two years. Southampton academy director Andy Goldie also knows MacLeod well from his own time at United.

Premier League rivals Fulham were interest in MacLeod last year but the deal collapsed. United are set to sell winger Brandon Forbes to Norwich City. The youngster has travelled south for a medical.United are set to net an initial £300,000 fee with other add-ons and a significant sell on.
