Ronnie O'Sullivan wins final frame decider to reach quarters at Saudi Arabia Masters

Ronnie O'Sullivan won a final frame decider to beat in-form Zhang Anda 6-5 and reach the quarter-finals of the inaugural Saudi Arabia Masters in Riyadh.

O'Sullivan, who will play Si Jiahui in the last eight, hit back from 3-0 down against world number 12 Zhang, who had rattled off four century breaks in the previous round when thrashing Ben Woollaston 5-0.

O'Sullivan stemmed the tide to make it 3-1 with a 64 before levelling the match with successive breaks of 109 and although Zhang led 4-3 and 5-4 - thanks to scores of 105 and 85 - O'Sullivan rose to the challenge.

The seven-time world champion made a 125 to make it 4-4 and held his nerve at 5-4 down to produce an 87 to draw level again before a 78-break in the decider saw him progress.

Si beat fellow Chinese Pang 6-5 and Jimmy Robertson upset world number three Kyren Wilson 6-4 to set up a last-eight encounter with Mark Williams, who beat Stuart Bingham 6-2.

World number one Judd Trump will face Neil Robertson in the last eight after both players cruised past their last-16 opponents earlier on Wednesday.

Trump, who fought back from 4-0 down to beat Wu Yize 5-4 in the previous round, defeated close friend Jack Lisowksi 6-1 and former world champion Robertson won by the same score against Gary Wilson.

Another former world champion, Shaun Murphy, overcame Elliot Slessor 6-3 to set up a quarter-final tie against Xiao Guodong, who made a 123-break in the deciding frame to beat Scott Donaldson 6-5.
