Wu Yize eases past Singh Chadha to reach English Open final
China's Wu Yize progressed to a first ranking event final of his career after sweeping aside India’s Ishpreet Singh Chadha 6-0 at the English Open.
The 20-year-old knocked out world number one Judd Trump in the quarter-finals and continued his memorable run in Brentwood with another fine display to reach the final.
Wu opened up an early 3-0 lead and never looked back as Singh Chadha failed to get a foothold following his late-night 6-5 win over Mark Selby.
Another run of 73 wrapped up a dominant victory for Wu, who will go on to face Chris Wakelin or Australian former world champion Neil Robertson, who play in Saturday’s late session.
"I am feeling great now. There was quite a bit of pressure in this match for me and this is a very good result," Wu told The World Snooker Tour website.
"It is great making it to this point, but I’m now competing for the title.
"This is my fourth year as a professional, I won’t put too much pressure on myself. I am eager to win, but I will maintain a calm mindset."
