Ronnie O'Sullivan comes back from the brink to beat John Higgins
Ronnie O'Sullivan came from three frames down to reach the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters in a thrilling match with John Higgins this morning.
The legendary duo were tied at 2-2 before Higgins raced into a 5-2 lead and a healthy advantage in the eighth frame, needing just a few more balls for victory.
But O'Sullivan pounced and cleared the table before reeling off the final three frames for a 6-5 success.
The Rocket made back-to-back centuries in clinching the win, including a 130 to delight the Chinese crowd who have savoured the action in the return of the tournament after a four-year absence.
In the other quarter-final, Mark Selby recorded an impressive 6-1 win over Judd Trump.
Selby won four of the frames in one visit with his opponent failing to register a point in a clinical display.
O'Sullivan and Selby will clash in the semi-final.
Home favourite Fan Zhengyi meets Neil Robertson this afternoon, while world champion Luca Brecel takes on Robert Milkins to determine the second semi-final pairing.
