Thierry Henry has been voted as the greatest player in Premier League history by fans.

The survey was taken by YouGov for Betfair ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Premier League and the Frenchman beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Alan Shearer to the crown.

In fact, as many as 15% voted for the legendary Arsenal striker.

In truth, it’s hard to disagree with Henry being the greatest the Premier League has ever seen. In his initial eight-year spell in north London, Henry scored 226 goals for the club becoming their record goalscorer.

He was the runner-up in the 2003 Ballon d’Or but there was no doubt that, for years, he was one of the best players in world football.

But in 30 years of Premier League football, we’ve witnessed some astonishing players. So where did all the other stars rank? Well, let’s take a look at the top 20 greatest players in Premier League history as voted for by the fans.
