Roman Reigns: Seth Rollins' heartbreaking feelings on working with WWE megastar

Seth Rollins gave a heartbreaking answer when asked about what it’s like to work alongside Roman Reigns in WWE.

Rollins and Reigns have been intertwined since arriving in WWE as part of The Shield at Survivor Series 2012.

Right now Roman is the top star within WWE, and Rollins has explained that that’s something that weighs on his mind.

Rollins and Reigns have been rivals in WWE, feuding as recently as January of this year, but Seth seems to feel like he lives in his former partner’s shadow a lot of the time.

Speaking to BT Sport, Rollins explained that even after winning the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania, he felt like he was in Roman’s shadow, via WrestleTalk.

Even when I had won the title at WrestleMania, cashed in. Great moment. I still felt like I was second fiddle to Roman [Reigns].

Seth went on to heartbreaking say that he felt like he was a placeholder champion until WWE was ready to put the belt onto Roman.

I still felt like, ‘he was the guy, you’re the placeholder until he’s totally ready and we’re totally ready to put the ball in his hands. But for now you’re a step ahead, so we’re gonna give you this and then we’ll move on to what we really want to be, it’s just gonna take a few months’

The former WWE Champion concluded by saying that he’s never felt like WWE has seen him as “the guy”, despite being one of the promotion’s top stars since the break-up of The Shield in 2014.

So no, I’ve never ever felt like, in my time in WWE, that the company was like ‘yep, he’s our guy, put his face on everything’.”

Seth went on to say that he only felt like a top guy when Roman was out recovering from Leukemia, so
