Róisín Ní Riain edged out of second medal in Manchester
Róisín Ní Riain came close to adding another medal at the Para Swimming World Championships, but had to settle for fourth in the 100m breaststroke final in Manchester.
A day after setting a new PB in claiming silver in the 100m butterfly (S13), the Limerick swimmer was edged out of a podium spot by .54 of a second.
"It was okay," she said afterwards. "Obviously, I'm disappointed to miss out on a bronze by so little, but I’ve a few more events so hopefully I can build on that."
On Wednesday, Tokyo silver medallist Nicole Turner and 2022 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Barry McClements both take to the pool.
McClements is first up competing in the first of two heats for the 100m butterfly where qualification would mean a final in the evening session for the county Down swimmer.
Turner will start her championships off with the 200m individual medley final in the evening session.
