Rodri reveals secret of Man City's dramatic victory vs Sheffield United

Manchester City's match-winner Rodri has hailed his team's patience after beating Sheffield United 2-1 at Bramall Lane.

City had to draw upon all of their patience in the first half as the Blades frustrated them. Erling Haaland was left with his head in his hands ten minutes before the break when his penalty hit the post.

His efforts would finally be rewarded after the hour mark when Jack Grealish picked him out at the back stick to give the Blues the lead. Five minutes before second-half stoppage time, United looked to have snatched a point when substitute Jayden Bogle fired home.

However, the missed chances from Haaland and co were all forgotten moments later when Rodri fired a strike into the top corner to spark wild scenes in the City away end. Speaking after the game, the Spanish midfielder praised what he called a great victory in South Yorkshire.

"It was one of those games you have to be patient," Rodri explained to Premier League Productions. "Great credit to them, they defended very well and closed the spaces, but we kept trying until the end and in the end we found the space.

"The mentality of the team, we did our job and I scored so I'm very happy. Sometimes football is like this, we know the level of this league, but it's a great win."

City's victory means their 100 per cent record remains intact. Next up for the Blues is the visit of Fulham to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The Puma home shirt features the traditional sky blue colour but has slightly darker blue detailed stripes across the front which take inspiration from the Etihad Stadium's walkways. City moved to their new home from Maine Road in 2003 and the shirt honours that anniversary.

Prices start from £55
