Rocky Bushiri gets honest on Hibs slump but declares he is SICK of talking about bosses on the brink

Rocky Bushiri admits Hibs' Premiership form has gone backwards in the last year. But the big defender insists he’s sick of hearing about managers being to blame when players need to take responsibility too.

Sunday’s 4-0 home humiliation against Aberdeen ramped the pressure up on Nick Montgomery with a root and branch review of the football structure at the club already underway and the boss already told results must improve. But Bushiri, playing for his third manager since Shaun Maloney took him to Leith two years ago, says the players deserve to be under the spotlight every bit as much as the man in charge after “letting so many people down”.

The DR Congo international also pointed to the new style of play implemented under Montgomery and asked if the club were committed to the “project”. A year ago Hibs were celebrating qualifying for Europe through a fifth place finish but this time round are struggling to finish seventh and are 10 points off last season’s tally of 52 with just two games to go.

Montgomery has won only nine of his 32 league games in charge since replacing axed Lee Johnson in September but looks set to continue in the dug out for the visit of Motherwell tomorrow.

Bushiri said: "I have been here two seasons and all the time it's manager, manager, manager. The responsibility is shared. It's also on us, it is on everybody. Everybody included in the club. I hate finger pointing. That's not up to me to speak about the manager. Let me focus on me and the boys, the team.
