Robert Lewandowski says his contract situation is 'NOT easy'

Robert Lewandowski has described his contract situation at Bayern Munich as 'not easy' - as the Polish star refuses to make an announcement on his future.

Lewandowksi is entering the final year of his deal with the German club following their retention of the Bundesliga title - which was sealed with a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

With Barcelona making their interest in Lewandowski publicly known but CEO of Bayern Munich Oliver Kahn saying the striker will stay, it's clear that the Poland international has a big decision to make.

Speaking after the game against Dortmund, Lewandowski told Sky: 'There will be a meeting soon, but nothing special has happened so far. I also notice what's going on. The situation is not that easy for me.'

The 33-year-old striker's current deal with the club expires in the summer of 2023 and he has been linked with a move to Catalan giants Barcelona in recent weeks.

As reported by Sport last week, the La Liga side are willing to offer Lewandowski a three-year contract, subject to his request, should they reach an agreement with Bayern Munich.  

Despite the standstill in negotiations, CEO of Bayern Munich Oliver Kahn recently insisted that the Polish star will 'definitely' stay at the club. 

'We definitely have Robert with us for another season,' Kahn told Amazon Prime Deutschland.

'We know what we have in him and we're relaxed about it. Apparently there's a competition out there: ''Who will tell the biggest nonsense story about Robert Lewandowski?''

The 33-year-old currently sits second in the all-time Bundesliga top goalscorer list with 309 goals in 379 appearances - as well as his ten league titles at both Munich at Borussia Dortmund.
